Saved instructions are reproduced below. Follow the current package or recipe if it differs.
Step 1
Bring a medium pot of salted water (3/4 full) to a boil. Rinse and dry all produce. Trim the bok choy root ends and roughly chop.
Step 2
Heat the sauteed aromatics in a nonstick pan over medium-high. Add the beef; season. Cook stirring frequently, breaking the meat apart, 2-3 minutes until browned. Drain off excess oil.
Step 3
Add the bok choy, black bean-chile sauce, 2 tablespoons water (4 tbsp for 4 servings), and as much gochujang as you like. Cook stirring occasionally 3-4 minutes until the bok choy is softened and the meat is cooked through. Remove from heat. Taste and season.
Step 4
Separate the rice cakes by hand. Add to the boiling water. Cook stirring occasionally 2-3 minutes until tender. Drain and rinse under warm water 30-60 seconds. Return to the pot.
Step 5
Add the cooked beef and bok choy and creme fraiche to the rice cakes; stir thoroughly to combine. Taste and season. Serve topped with sesame seeds.
