Editorial Policy: How MealFan Reviews and Ranks

MealFan helps readers compare meal delivery services, individual dishes and grocery products. A service review, a nutrition comparison and a reader's account answer different questions. This policy explains how to read those distinctions, what a score means and how to request a correction.

What our content is based on

Our pages combine published brand information, menu and nutrition data, price research, editorial assessment and attributed reader contributions. A catalog photo shows the brand's presentation. A reader photo shows one person's order or preparation. Neither establishes what every customer will receive.

Firsthand testing should identify the person, product or service, and the experience being described. Manufacturer descriptions and research summaries are not personal testing. A purchase from a service does not establish that the reviewer tried every dish. If a page's testing claim lacks enough context, contact us so we can check the supporting record and correct or qualify the claim.

Editorial scores and reader ratings

A MealFan editorial score is our assessment, normally shown out of ten. It is not a customer star average, a count of purchases or a clinical judgment. Consider the explanation and the tradeoffs alongside the number. Our service comparisons discuss food, value, portions, menu choice, preparation and delivery. A category recommendation can differ from an overall recommendation because the reader's needs differ.

Reader ratings describe submitted experiences. They are separate from editorial scores. Moderation does not by itself verify a purchase. A photo contribution can be published without a star rating and must not be counted as a rating. We do not convert an editorial score into an aggregate customer review.

Prices, offers and availability

The MealFan Price Index identifies its edition, source checks and cost assumptions. A starting price often requires a larger order. A weekly comparison is meaningful only when the number of servings, shipping and plan conditions are stated. Unknown shipping or gated prices should remain unknown rather than appear as zero.

Introductory discounts may apply only to new customers or be spread across several boxes. Check the merchant's terms, delivery address, renewal total and cancellation cutoff before ordering. A date on an article is not proof that every price or offer was rechecked that day.

Our menu pages distinguish menu snapshots and catalogs from confirmed availability. Selection can depend on address and delivery week. An older reader photo does not establish that a dish is currently offered.

Reader reviews and photo permissions

Readers can share an experience or a photo. Contributions are subject to moderation. Publication permission applies to the use granted by the contributor; permission for a named page does not grant permission for every other page. Credits and sharing dates help readers understand the source and age of an image.

Individual experiences can differ. A positive or negative review is not a guarantee of future service. To request a correction or removal of your contribution, contact MealFan with the page address and enough information to identify the submission. Please do not send payment-card details or account passwords.

Affiliate links and commercial relationships

Some links are affiliate links. MealFan may earn a commission when a reader follows a link and completes an eligible action. Nutrition and dietary information

Nutrition and ingredient information can vary with portion size, recipe version, customization and preparation. Check the current label and the provider's allergen information. A diet tag is not a guarantee against cross-contact, and a product score is not medical advice. Readers with a medical condition or food allergy should use appropriate professional advice when making food decisions.

Corrections and updates

Send corrections through our contact page. Include the page URL, the statement in question and a source or photograph when available. We distinguish a change to page presentation from a new source check. Scores, prices and statements that disagree across pages require reconciliation against the underlying record, not a new date pasted over the discrepancy.
