How to make it

Take the butter out to soften. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Rinse and dry all produce. Halve the baguette(s) horizontally. Halve, peel, and thinly slice the onion(s). Peel and roughly chop 2 garlic cloves (4 for 4 servings). Pick and roughly chop the rosemary leaves.

Place the baguette halves cut-side up on a sheet pan; top evenly with the softened butter. Toast in the oven 7-9 minutes until lightly browned. Transfer to a board; halve each piece crosswise.

Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a medium pot over medium-high. Add the sliced onion(s); season. Cook stirring occasionally 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and rosemary. Cook stirring occasionally 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the beans (including liquid), broth, and as much red pepper flake as you like; season. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low and simmer stirring occasionally 5-6 minutes, lightly mashing some beans. Stir in any finishing ingredients. Taste and season. Serve with the garlic bread on the side.
