Ingredients
10 oz. Ground Turkey
8 fl. oz. Tomato Sauce
4 fl. oz. Cream Sauce Base
5 oz. Lasagna Noodles
2 oz. Shredded Mozzarella
½ oz. Shredded Parmesan Cheese
¼ oz. AP Flour
2 Garlic Cloves
1 tsp. Sugar
1 tsp. Italian Seasoning Blend
How to make it
1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the lasagna noodles and cook until tender, 6-8 minutes. Drain and rinse in a colander; set aside. While the noodles cook, mince the garlic.
2
Place a medium nonstick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add the ground turkey, Italian seasoning, and 1/4 tsp. salt; break up the meat until no pink remains and the turkey reaches 165°F, 7-9 minutes. Add the garlic and stir often until fragrant, 1-2 minutes. Stir in the tomato sauce, 1/4 cup water, half the sugar, and a pinch of salt; bring to a simmer and stir often until slightly thickened, 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat.
3
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the cream base, mozzarella, and 2/3 of the flour. Microwave uncovered until the cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes; stir to combine. Lay the noodles flat on a clean work surface. Divide the cream mixture among the noodles and spread into an even layer. Roll each noodle from the bottom edge toward the top to form pinwheels.
4
Spread half the turkey sauce into the bottom of a prepared casserole dish. Nestle the pinwheels seam-side down on top, then spoon the remaining turkey sauce over everything. Cover tightly with foil.
5
Bake covered at 375°F until the turkey sauce is bubbling and the pinwheels are heated through, 15-20 minutes. Remove from the oven and discard the foil. Divide the pinwheels between plates and spoon any sauce from the dish over the top. Garnish with Parmesan.
