The catch

These are a corn and chickpea blend chip, not a pure chickpea one, and the label shows it, with 3g protein and 3g fiber per 1oz serving, roughly what a regular tortilla chip gives you. Where they earn a spot is sugar and salt, with 0g added sugar and 170mg sodium in the Sea Salt version, both low for the category. The fat is 7g and comes from canola and or sunflower oil, so if you steer clear of seed oils these are a pass. Reach for them if you want a lighter, lower sodium chip with a little extra fiber, not if you are buying them for real protein.
