The catch

Each two waffle serving carries 350 milligrams of sodium and 7 grams of sugar on a base of enriched flour and canola or soybean oil, so it is convenient protein rather than a clean food. (source)

The honest take

This is a frozen buttermilk waffle built around whey protein, giving you 13 grams of protein for 220 calories in a two waffle serving, which is more than a standard toaster waffle. The tradeoff is that it is still a refined product on a base of enriched flour and vital wheat gluten, with 350 milligrams of sodium, 7 grams of sugar, canola or soybean oil and a bioengineered ingredient. It works as a fast, protein forward breakfast, but it sits closer to a better than average frozen waffle than to a whole food. Worth noting the brand page markets slightly leaner numbers of 210 calories and 2g sugar, while the full retailer nutrition panels I checked show 220 calories and 7g sugar.
