The honest take

CLIF Builders is a plant based bar built around soy protein isolate, and it delivers a real 20 grams of protein per 68 gram bar, which is genuinely a lot for a grab and go snack. The catch is that this is a candy bar in spirit as much as a protein bar. Each one carries 17 grams of added sugar and 6 grams of saturated fat, most of that from palm kernel oil, so it reads more like a treat that happens to be high in protein than a clean recovery food. If you want the protein and the taste and you are honest about the sugar, it works, but it is not the lean choice it sometimes gets marketed as.
