The honest take

This is Clif's classic oat based energy bar, built to fuel a hike or a long ride rather than to be an everyday snack. Each 68 gram bar carries 260 calories and 9 grams of plant based protein, but it also brings 16 grams of added sugar, close to a third of the daily limit, mostly from brown rice syrup, tapioca syrup and cane sugars stacked high on the ingredient list. The organic oats and 5 grams of fiber are genuine pluses and the macadamia flavor is pleasant, but if you are watching sugar this reads more like fuel than a health food.
