The catch

The honest take

This is the original Clif energy bar, built to fuel a bike ride or a long hike more than to be a light snack. One 68g bar carries 260 calories, 42g of carbs and 9g of plant protein, mostly from organic rolled oats and roasted soybeans. The catch is the 16g of added sugar per bar, which comes from a stack of syrups like brown rice, tapioca and cane, so it eats like a sweet oat bar wearing an organic, non GMO label. As workout fuel it makes sense, but as an everyday desk snack the sugar adds up fast.
