The catch

Much of the advertised 7 grams of fiber comes from added chicory root inulin rather than the nuts, and the bar still contains palm kernel oil and 4 grams of added sugar. (source)

The honest take

This is KIND's flagship Nuts and Spices bar, and the Dark Chocolate Nuts and Sea Salt version leads with real almonds and peanuts, which is why it delivers 6 grams of protein and 7 grams of fiber for just 5 grams of sugar per 40 gram bar. That is a genuinely restrained sugar count for a chocolate snack bar, and there are no sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners. The honest caveats are that much of that 7 grams of fiber comes from added chicory root inulin rather than the nuts themselves, and the ingredient list includes palm kernel oil plus three sugar sources of honey, cane sugar, and glucose syrup. It is a solid nut based snack, just not the whole food purist bar the label styling suggests.
