The catch

At 190 calories per 1/3 cup dry serving you get 10 grams of protein, which is only a few grams more than regular rolled oats while costing noticeably more. (source)

The honest take

This is refreshingly simple. The only ingredient is whole grain oat flakes from a naturally higher protein oat variety, so you get 10 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber per 1/3 cup dry serving with zero added sugar and zero sodium. There is no protein powder, no seed oils, and no sweeteners doing the heavy lifting, which is exactly what a health minded shopper wants in a pantry oat. The honest flip side is that it costs more than plain rolled oats for a modest protein bump, and since it is unflavored you are the one cooking and topping it.
