The catch

Sodium is 450mg per can, about 20 percent of a day's worth, though Wild Planet does sell a no salt added version if that matters to you. (source)

The honest take

This is about as clean as canned tuna gets, just skipjack tuna and sea salt, with 32g of protein in a 5oz can for 140 calories and zero carbs or sugar. Skipjack is a smaller, lower mercury fish than albacore, and Wild Planet pole and line or troll catches it with no nets, which is a big part of why it runs closer to 4 dollars a can than 1. The one thing to watch is sodium at 450mg per can, so finishing the whole tin uses about 20 percent of a day's worth. Health minded shoppers who want real protein and a two ingredient label will find plenty to like here.
